I would go here: http://www.sewingmachinereview.com and look at different reviews on sewing machines. Husqvarna has machines in that range, also, I have heard Janome's are excellent machines. I have heard great things about their Magnoloia model. What I think is most important is a strong motor. I hope that helps :)!!!
